Discover how Access went from pandemic shutdowns to national recognition—and why being women-owned, values-driven, and fiercely local still matters more than ever.
Just five years ago, in the middle of massive industry disruption and uncertainty, three women with a combined 70 years of experience made a bold decision.
Access had just been presented with the opportunity to return to its roots—independently owned and led. And not just by anyone, but by three long-time Access leaders who had lived and breathed the company, its culture, and its vision for decades. That was the moment we saw a new future, and we stepped into it.
We believed in a better way to run a Destination Management Company. One that honored the magic of local expertise while leveraging national strength. One that would remain fiercely independent but capable of scaling consistently across every market we served. One that would lead with values, not just with volume. And one that—importantly—would be fully women-owned and women-led in a traditionally male-dominated industry.
The road wasn’t easy. We were starting from zero. The pandemic had wiped out gatherings across the globe, and with them, much of our industry. But with grit, creativity, and an unshakable belief in our people, we rebuilt—one event, one teammate, one breakthrough at a time.
Five years later, we’re proud to say: We’re STILL Access.
Still independent. Still leading the industry.
Still owned and operated by powerhouse women.
Still supporting women vendors across the country.
Still certified by the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC).
Still named one of Newsweek’s Best Workplaces for Women.
Still showing what leadership looks like when people come first.
Still the one to beat.
And this year, we also celebrate a bigger milestone: 55 years of Access.
That’s 55 years of pushing the industry forward. Of showing up for clients, coast to coast. Of growing partnerships, building experiences, and setting the standard. Of innovating and trailblazing each new version of ourselves, year after year.
The future? It’s bright. With innovation driving us and humanity grounding us, we’ll continue to reimagine what a DMC can be.
