ACCESS Destination Services Partner, Ilene Reinhart, DMCP, CMP, was honored as co-winner of "Destination Management Professional of the Year," the top Recognition Award of the Association of Destination Management Executives (ADME). Ilene accepted her award at the Fourth Annual ADME Achievement Awards for Excellence in Destination Management Gala Banquet, the closing event of the ADME 2009 Annual Conference, held March 1-4 at the Westin Riverwalk in San Antonio, TX. This highly coveted award recognizes an individual who has given their time, dedication, leadership and knowledge towards the advancement of the destination management industry. States Ilene, a Charter member and Past President of ADME, "I am deeply honored and humbled to be recognized in this manner by the peers in my industry. I am pleased to have been a part of ADME for many years and plan to continue to work vigorously for ADME towards educating everyone as to the value that DMCs bring to the meetings and hospitality industry." This is the second time an ACCESS Destination Services Partner has received this coveted award. ACCESS CEO, Chris Lee, DMCP, was honored in 2006.

The ACCESS Destination Services San Diego team was also recognized as an Achievement Award Finalist in the Best Teambuilding Activity Category, with their socially responsible "Learning is Fun through Technology" event which took place in New Orleans, LA involving corporate IT executives and under-privileged youth in a sustainable computer lab building project benefiting the youth and the entire community.

The Association of Destination Management Executives (ADME) is the only professional society for destination management executives with more than 275 members in North America and the European Community. (www.adme.org) Ilene summarizes the continued support by ACCESS for this valuable organization, "All of the partners of ACCESS Destination Services are committed to ADME and the service that it provides, not only to its members but to the hospitality industry as a whole. The strides that have been made by ADME to certify destination management professionals, to create an accreditation program (ADMC) that sets standards and industry best practices for companies providing destination management services, to author a book about destination management, and to present a united front in addressing specific industry needs, have helped to raise the bar of awareness of the value of DMCs."
