Keri Shaffer – Shining Star for ACCESS Destination Services!

While Los Angeles is home to stars of the celebrity type, movie studios, and the Academy Awards, Keri Shaffer of the Los Angeles ACCESS  team is our own “Shining Star.” Keri was recently honored as Shining Star of the Month by the MPI (Meeting Professionals International) Southern California Chapter for her many contributions to the local chapter. In recent months, Keri Shaffer has served the MPISCC by working as a volunteer on the MPISCC Fundraiser. Her dedication and hard work as a committee member has directly contributed to the success of our organization.”

Keri, a two year sales veteran at ACCESS , where she manages incentive, corporate and association accounts, enjoys offering creative suggestions to create dynamic programs of events for her clients while showcasing all that ACCESS  and the Greater Los Angeles area have to offer clients looking for a hospitable Southern California destination for their upcoming programs. Prior to her employment at ACCESS  Destination Services, Keri served as Program Manager for an East Coast Destination Management Company and as a Regional Meeting Planner/Program Manager for one of our long-standing East Coast client companies where she managed promotional symposia for over seven pharmaceutical drugs in various therapeutic classes, among other responsibilities. Ultimately, the warm, sunny climate of Los Angeles drew Keri westward and to the ACCESS  Los Angeles team.

In her free time, Keri enjoys baking and listening to live music. In fact, it was her love of gathering friends together at creative parties to sample good foods, wines and music that drew Keri to the Hospitality Industry. Her love of the above, her networking abilities, and her interest in various aspects of volunteerism, contribute to her value to MPI where she has served on the local chapter’s Fundraising Committee for the past two years, this past year as Chairperson. Keri’s associate at the ACCESS  Los Angeles Office, Steve McCleave, DMCP, serves as Director of the Chapter’s Fundraising efforts, highlighting that industry involvement and participation is encouraged by the leadership team at ACCESS  and by partner, Ilene Reinhart, DMCP, CMP, who heads up the Los Angeles ACCESS  Office.

Keri aspires to achieve her DMCP and CMP designations and will continue her volunteer efforts with MPISCC which strengthens her commitment and enhances her experiences serving her clients at ACCESS  Destination Services. Says ACCESS  partner, Ilene Reinhart, DMCP, CMP, “Keri is a wonderful example of volunteers who follow-through on their promises. Many times, people will say they will do the work but then they are nowhere to be found. Keri stands by her word and gives more than 100% towards the success of everything she does, both with her clients and with her volunteer activities.”

Prior to being named as Shining Star of the Month, Keri was previously honored by the MPI Southern California Chapter as Rising Star of the Month in recognition for individuals who have made significant contributions to the chapter and show promise as future leaders. Keri, your star shines bright!
